Trivia Monsters has just rolled out a new feature that is now available on the Meta Quest store. The ability to create and join private multiplayer rooms. With this latest update, you can now bring in your friends and family, set up your own space, and enjoy a put your skills to the test in this trivia VR battle game. Here’s a rundown of what’s new, how it works, and what you can expect from this update:
Instead of just hoping the right mix of players shows up, you can send a unique room code to friends and family members, ensuring everyone in the session is someone you actually want to hang out with. This is especially useful for small gatherings, family get-togethers, streamers, online communities and beyond.
Creating a private room is simple. Once you open Trivia Monsters on your Meta Quest headset, you’ll see an option to create your own room. After you set it up, the game will generate a code. Share that code with anyone you want to join. There’s no complicated process—no need to scroll through a friend list or send invites through external apps. Your invitees just punch in the code on their headset, join your room, and start playing. This straightforward approach makes it easy to coordinate a trivia night, even if some of the people you’re inviting are new to virtual reality. We wanted to make it quick to hop in and out of games and felt this was the best for user experience.
The game’s existing library of over 10,000+ questions remains unchanged, covering categories like general knowledge, history, science, movies, and more. This wide range ensures that when you’re playing in a private room, different people’s strengths come into play. Maybe one friend knows a lot about TV shows, while another is a movie buff. By the end of a session, you’ll probably find that everyone has had their moment to shine. The variety also helps keep the game from feeling repetitive. Even if you play multiple times, it’s unlikely you’ll run into the exact same set of questions over and over.
Trivia Monsters is designed to be accessible. The questions range from easy to challenging, making it suitable for mixed groups. That’s important if you’re planning to bring together different age groups or people who might not be seasoned quiz enthusiasts. The VR environment itself is also approachable, with intuitive controls and a user-friendly interface. Even if someone in your group isn’t a gamer, they’ll likely find the experience easy enough to navigate after a quick orientation.
Trivia Monsters isn’t just about friendly competition—its question categories can also serve as a valuable educational tool. With topics like Animals, Science, World Locations, and History, the game provides a fun way to reinforce classroom material or spark interest in new subjects. Educators and parents can use private rooms to host sessions that feel less like formal lessons and more like interactive quizzes, encouraging players to learn through play. By reviewing facts and discussing answers in a collaborative VR environment, students and family members alike can broaden their knowledge base while enjoying themselves.
The addition of private multiplayer rooms feels like the first logical update for a game that’s competitive.
